The results suggest that the top in the relative position of living standard is strongly tied up with happiness. It is also shown with regard to people’s value that rich mind makes life happier than material richness. Happiness increases monotonously with income satisfaction, but income satisfaction does not necessarily increase with income. For the annual income class of 5-10 million yen, the aspiration level of people is high relative to the present income, and thus, people in this class are not satisfied with their income level : the “hedonic treadmill” hypothesis seems to apply. As social environment, both the inequality of income distribution and unemployment rate negatively affect individual’s happiness. In particular, increase in unemployment rate surely lowers happiness. This is because unemployment deprives people of both income and the opportunity for social contribution., 5, KJ00005304979, 論文, Article}, pages = {43--62}, title = {幸福は何処に? : 「幸福学」序説}, volume = {56}, year = {2008} }
